I was pretty young when I started reading and understand the news, but looking back, I got a lot wrong about what happened, owing to the unreliable perception that comes with childhood. Here are 9 songs about the things I was aware of in the early and mid 90s, in that curious style of alternative pop that seemed to only exist back then, pairing grungy guitars, drum machines and a bucket of overproduction.
